Default Selling Account Inside of Game

I see quite a few people selling their accounts inside the game for in-game money. Is this allowed?

I was unfortunatly scamed today by "[name removed]", whereas I paid him/her 25k and then signed off without giving me the serial for their account.

Any advise?

No it isn't.

It's against the EULA.

You could report these people, or just ignore em. I do the latter. =\

Even weirder I see people asking to buy accounts, they can't be completely sane.

Makes sense to me, I was doing it, I wanted it for a friend. I'd rather farm for 6 hours and make 30k then work for 4-5 hours and buy it.

Well since it's not allowed and chances are that you will be scammed it's not very wise.

Most of the time when people are selling accounts ingame they're trying to scam you. All they have to do is send in the original access code to Arenanet and they'll get their account back.

Sorry but i have to say if you thought you were going to get a guild wars account for 25k in game gold then you must be on drugs.

Think before you act people.

Send the screenshot you took of the transaction to guild wars support. Oh wait, is it ok with GW to get an account this way? Probably not.

Give all of your guildies and friends the scammers name and tell them to put him on their friends list so they can ask for your 25k back whenever he's online. But he probably has one account for playing and another for scamming. So that probably wont work.

Read GWGuru and guildwiki's sections on known scams.

But---if you was willing to risk 25k on a deal that you had to have known had no guarrantees, you probably have plenty of cash anyway. Only make those kinds of transactions with people you know.

EDIT:- The moderators will want you to remove dude's name

There not's much you can do; you can try at http://support.guildwars.com, but I doubt they'd be supportive of you since you were violating the EULA too. Closed.
